How Occasionally tarpon will be caught on king rigs.
With What I'm not sure but large menhaden, mullet, or spot would probably be good. In Florida they say that hardheads (croakers) work well as live bait for tarpon.

Why They are huge when they are around NC's coast, usually over 50 pounds. They are strong, fast and amazing acrobats, jumping and flipping. They are not edible as far as I know.
